Time to experience an Ethiopian coffee on a whole new level with this Danche red honey processed Wolisho and Dega varitey. Grown at a breathtaking altitude of 2250 meters above sea level by dedicated smallholder farmers in the charming Worka Chelbese village, nestled in the heart of Gedeb, Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia.
Taste description: Intense white & orange florals, peach, jammy mouthfeel with an ice-tea like crisp citrus acidity in the finish.
Story: This astonishing coffee is brought to you by the hardworking smallholder producers of the Worka Chelbesa, expertly processed at one of SNAP's wet mills, managed by the talented Negusse Debela. Negusse oversees two outstanding sites in Worka Chelbesa, including this one nestled in the Danche sub-area. Here, he meticulously processes Washed, Natural, and unique experimental lots, tirelessly striving to elevate the quality of every batch.
Worka Chelbesa, situated in the Gedeb Woreda, is the southernmost gem of the Gedeo zone. It's renowned for its lush semi-forest surroundings, characterized by trees and other shade plants, creating the perfect environment for nurturing shade-grown coffee.
The local farmers in this area cultivate the cherished Wolisho and Dega variety coffee, both of which are indigenous landrace varieties hailing from the renowned Yirgacheffe region. Each cherry is handpicked with care before making its way to the processing station. There, they undergo a meticulous hand-sorting process, ensuring only the finest cherries are selected for further processing. After sorting, the cherries are pulped and artfully dried on raised beds until they reach their perfect moisture level. Every batch undergoes a final round of precise hand sorting before being prepared for export.
This exceptional coffee is proudly sourced from SNAP Specialty Coffee, an establishment founded by Negusse Debela in Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa, in 2008. SNAP manages three washing stations within the Gedeo zone and maintains strategic partnerships with additional washing stations in Guji and West Arsi.
Always Fresh: Each coffee jar contains 250 grams of this exceptional coffee. It's perfect for your daily batch brew or for extracting an edgy espresso that will take your coffee experience to the next level!
