Amount of coffee

A community-grown Gesha selected for its floral clarity, delicate fruit and remarkably composed expression of southern Huila.

We’ve worked with coffees from La Muralla before, and this lot gave us a reason to return. Three neighbouring producers have combined their Gesha harvests into a single micro-lot, creating a coffee that shows both the quality emerging from San Agustín and what can happen when small volumes of an exceptional variety are brought together with intent.

The cup opens with jasmine and elderflower, followed by pomegranate, goldenberry and blood orange. Ripe peach and white peach bring sweetness and softness, while the finish remains light, floral and distinctly Gesha.

La Muralla is an informal collective of young producers in San Agustín, Huila. For this lot, Hermilda Bolaños, Edwin Astudillo and Ilmer Ivan Gomez consolidated their Gesha harvests rather than keeping their individual volumes separate, allowing them to create a larger, variety-specific micro-lot without losing its small-producer identity.

The cherries were hand-picked at peak ripeness, floated and depulped on the day of harvest. The coffee was then dry-fermented in tiled tanks for 24 hours before being dried on raised beds to approximately 10.5% moisture.
