Backstory

This washed lot comes from the newly built Sawana drying station, operated by Ture Waji — also known as “The King of Guji.” Since 2022, the station has sourced ripe cherries from around 30 local smallholders in the Bookkisa area. The coffee is processed with care: a short fermentation, clean spring water soak, and slow drying on raised beds. All cherries are organically grown.

About the Region

Coffee farming in Ethiopia looks very different from Latin America. Farmers here manage small, forested plots where coffee grows alongside food crops. Yields are low, but cup quality is unmatched — shaped by native varieties, altitude, and tradition. This lot is a clear expression of that natural heritage.

Amount

You can get this coffee in 50g bags, 250g jars, or 1kg bags — all whole beans roasted for filter brewing or a slightly edgy espresso. Our specialty range bridges everyday and competition-style coffees, delivering vibrant and distinctive flavors.

In the Jar

Each 250g jar is roasted to bring out the clarity and character of the coffee, whether you’re brewing a V60 or dialing in a bright, expressive espresso. Packed and shipped on demand for maximum freshness. Open it like you would a bottle of champagne — if you’re lucky, you’ll get the swoosh and an instant hit of aroma.
