    Taste Description

Rose floral aroma, ripe peach, stewed strawberry, salted caramel, syrupy mouthfeel, long juicy finish

    In depth taste description:

This coffee opens with a delicate yet vivid rose floral aroma that sets a refined tone from the start. On the palate, you’ll find lush, ripe peach and deeply stewed strawberry—bringing both brightness and jammy depth. As the cup develops, a layer of salted caramel emerges, adding a sweet-savoury richness that contrasts beautifully with the fruit. The texture is full and syrupy, coating the mouth with a velvety smoothness. The finish is long and juicy, leaving behind a lingering impression of ripe red fruit and soft sweetness. A bold yet balanced cup that rewards slow and attentive brewing.

    Backstory

This lot comes from Café Granja La Esperanza, one of Colombia’s most innovative and awarded coffee projects. Founded in the 1940s by Blanca Ligia Correa and Juan Antonio Herrera, the farm has grown from humble beginnings to a global name in specialty coffee. In the late 1990s, second-generation producers Rigoberto and Luis Herrera introduced advanced processing methods and organic cultivation techniques—paving the way for groundbreaking flavor profiles and international acclaim.

Their coffees have won the Best of Panama, the SCAA Best Coffee of the Year, and have been used by multiple World Barista Champions. With an in-house lab, Q Graders, and a focus on techniques like the X.O and Napoleon fermentation styles, Café Granja La Esperanza continues to push the boundaries of what Colombian coffee can be.
