Why we use it
We select and roast our coffees to express what makes each one special. When we brew, we want to bring that same character into the cup: distinct aromatics, clear sweetness and a finish that invites another sip.
The HARIO V60 Titanium 02 is the dripper we use across our coffee range. It combines the control we value in a V60 with a lightweight, durable titanium body—equipment that fits naturally into our daily brewing routine, at the roastery, at home or on the road.
Paired with our Double Bloom recipe, it gives us a consistent starting point for exploring every coffee. We adjust the grind and temperature to the beans, while keeping the method familiar and repeatable.
Why titanium?
Titanium brings practical advantages to a brewer you use every day. Lightweight and resistant to deformation, damage, water, heat and humidity, it is well suited to both a kitchen counter and a camping kit.
HARIO also highlights its low tendency to impart metallic odours or unwanted flavours. The simple Titanium Silver finish and silicone holder complete a brewer designed for years of use.
Control over the cup
The V60’s conical shape, spiral ribs and large opening make your pouring technique part of the brewing process. Grind size and water delivery give you room to explore how a coffee expresses its sweetness, acidity and texture.
That flexibility is why it suits our coffees. A delicate washed Gesha and a fruit-forward natural may need different adjustments, but both benefit from a method you can repeat, taste and refine.
The 02 has a capacity of 1–4 cups and works beautifully with our 15 g Double Bloom recipe below. Use it with a size 02 V60 paper filter.
Our Double Bloom brewing guide
Two small pours, followed by one main pour. This is our everyday framework for brewing Standout Coffee.
The recipe
-
Coffee: 15 g
-
Water: 250 g
-
Water temperature: 93°C as a starting point
-
Grind: Medium-fine
-
Target brew time: 2:40–3:00
-
Equipment: HARIO V60 Titanium 02, size 02 V60 paper filter, scale, timer and pouring kettle
These are the starting parameters for our published Double Bloom recipe.
Prepare
Place the paper filter in the dripper. Rinse it with hot water to wet the paper and warm the brewer and server, then discard the rinse water.
Add 15 g of freshly ground coffee and gently shake the dripper to level the bed. Set your scale to zero.
1. First bloom — 0:00–0:10
Start your timer and pour 50 g of water, wetting the entire coffee bed. Wait until 0:30.
2. Second bloom — 0:30–0:40
Pour another 50 g, bringing the scale to 100 g. Wait until 1:00.
3. Main pour — 1:00–1:10
Pour the remaining 150 g, bringing the scale to 250 g. Use a controlled circular pour across the coffee bed.
4. Draw down
Allow the water to drain through. Aim to finish between 2:40 and 3:00 from the start of the first pour.
Gently swirl the server before serving. Let the coffee cool a little, then follow how its aroma, sweetness and texture develop.
The pour schedule and target time follow our published brewing guide.
Why we use two blooms
The first pour wets the grounds and begins releasing trapped gas. The second adds another stage of wetting before the main pour.
For us, the value is a simple, repeatable routine. Keeping the dose and pour schedule consistent makes it easier to taste what changes when we adjust the grind or brewing temperature.
Adjust to your coffee
Treat the recipe as a starting point and let taste guide you:
-
Sharp, thin or lacking sweetness: Try a slightly finer grind.
-
Dry, bitter or heavy: Try a slightly coarser grind.
-
Still underdeveloped after adjusting the grind: Try a slightly higher water temperature.
-
Too intense at 93°C: Try a slightly lower temperature.
Change one variable at a time. Brew time is a useful reference; the cup decides when you have it right.
Built for your daily coffee
Lightweight enough to travel with and durable enough for everyday use, the HARIO V60 Titanium 02 brings a familiar brewing ritual wherever you make coffee.
Brew consistently. Taste carefully. Find what makes each coffee stand out.
