For the last few years the producer Pablo Guerrero at El Obraje in Narino, Colombia has gained a lot of attention because of how many baristas have used their washed and natural gesha with great success in competition.
I LOVE having the pleasure to roast the washed Gesha from El Obraje! It is truly an amazing coffee. Filled with intense florals, sparkling tropical fruit notes and super sweet long finish it’s THE PERFECT competition coffee!
Given that it grows at the super high elevation of 2200msl it is a bit more challenging than many others.
I tried to control the development phase of the roasting with a relatively fast DTR of 11%. This gives me a super transparent and extremely balanced cup of coffee.
